The Citizen and the State in the Digital Environment of the Future
The "Creating the Future" symposium was held at the National Center "Russia". During the event, participants discussed the development of digital services, the public's perception of the global digitalization process, and the prospects for cooperation between the government and society in this field. Evgeny Styrin, head of the International Laboratory for Digital Transformation in Public Administration at the HSE University, delivered a presentation.
The digital environment today is an integral part of our lives. It is not just another dimension, but also a whole sphere of existence. It encompasses our personal communication, professional networks, interest groups, and our physical world. One of the key players in this digital landscape is the state, which provides public services to citizens. From obtaining a child's certificate to resolving landscaping issues in the yard, voting in elections, and buying or selling real estate, citizens rely on the state for various services.
Evgeny Styrin has highlighted the importance of trust and security in digital technologies. Achieving digital trust requires collaboration between legislative and executive authorities, businesses, and citizens. Citizens must be willing to adapt and evolve to use fully the digital opportunities provided by the state.
