Webinar «Artificial intelligence vs privacy»
Webinar «Artificial intelligence vs privacy» was held in Moscow, organized by the Department of Innovative Jurisprudence of the Public Law Department of the HSE University Faculty of Law together with the Scientific center «Information and Digital Law» of the Department of Legal Informatics, Information and digital law of the Michail Lomonosov Faculty of Law.
During the webinar, the legal aspects of AI training on personal data, confidentiality risks in data processing with AI were considered, mechanisms for ensuring privacy in Russia and foreign jurisdictions.

Elena Vasiakina – Head of the department of innovative jurisprudence of the department of public law faculty of law of the Higher School of Economics, Academic Assistant Head of the Master’s Program of the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics «Legal Tech», candidate of Legal Sciences, associate professor;
Igor Tereshchenko is the Executive Director of NHC «Information and Digital Law» of the Department of Legal Informatics, Information and digital law of the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moscow named after M.V. Lomonosov, managing partner of legal company «Diritto»;
Sergey Afanasiev – Deputy Executive Director of NHC «Information and Digital Law» of the Department of Legal Informatics, Information and digital law of the MGU Law Faculty named after M.V. Lomonosov; Partner, Head of legal research practice and GR of the legal company «Diritto», Candidate of Law.
Research fellow of the International Laboratory for Digital Transformation in Public Administration Evgenii Diskin took part in it as a member of the working group «Information and Digital Security» participated in the discussion on the issue of personal data protection by drawing the attention of the participants of the webinar to the problem of applying domestic legislation to foreign artificial intelligence system developers, which currently do not even provide access to the relevant systems for Russian citizens. In this sense, the prospects of developing relevant legislation should be considered also through the lens of this problem. Similarly, Evgenii Diskin pointed out the need to criminalize officials responsible for personal data breaches.
