HSE's contribution to integration processes in the CIS: Twentieth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the CIS on Scientific, Technical and Innovative Cooperation

On 27 June 2017, the Higher School of Economics hosted the twentieth meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the CIS on Scientific, Technical and Innovative Cooperation, devoted to implementation of the Intergovernmental Innovative Cooperation Programme for CIS Member States until 2020, the key developer of which is NRU HSE.

Topical problems in public strategic planning

As part of the 17th April International Conference a session, chaired by Vladimir Korolev, was held on “Directions and conditions governing the development of public strategic management”.
The discussion involved representatives of NRU HSE, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Finance University under the Russian Government, representatives of regional ministries and departments (Ulyanovsk Region, Volgograd Region, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Altai Krai, the Republic of Khakassia and others).

HSE offers its own concept for technopark creation in Archangelsk Region

The Higher School of Economics has offered its own concept for technopark creation in Archangelsk Region. Experts believe that the creation of a state-run technopark, which could have recourse to federal support, would have the greatest chances of success in the region. The more diverse the industry specialisation of the participants, the more interesting the projects that may be generated. What is more, believe the developers of the concept, the future technopark should have the Arctic as its main focal point. Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Archangelsk Region Alexey BUSIN spoke with BC about development of the project.

Workshop devoted to development of a draft Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of Tyumen Region until 2030

Director of the “Development Centre” Institute Natalya Akindinova and IPAG Director Andrey Klimenko presented the region's development strategy until 2030 to heads of divisions of the Tyumen Region administration and group heads.

Work should begin on creation of a technopark in Archangelsk Region without waiting for federal funds to arrive

This is the opinion of Ilya Akishin, project manager at IPAG NRU HSE. He visited Archangelsk as part of a delegation of HSE representatives late last week, under a contract for development of the Concept for Technopark Creation in Archangelsk Region. Upon completion of the project, Ilya Akishin answered questions from the correspondent of the press office of the Archangelsk Region Development Corporation.

Five institutional reforms of the President of Kazakhstan

On 14 January 2016 a round table was held at the Kazakh Embassy in Moscow, titled “From Modernisation to a Nation of a Common Future”. Deputy Director of the Institute of Public and Municipal Management NRY HSE Vladimir Korolev spoke at the session on “Industrialisation and Economic Growth”.

On 19-20 October, St Petersburg hosts XIV All-Russian Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: The Space for Choice and Choice of Space"

For over ten years the All-Russian Forum “Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: The Space for Choice and Choice of Space” has been a popular platform for discussing planning and strategy issues pertaining to development of Russia's regions and cities. Andrey Klimenko, Director of the Institute for Public and Municipal Management of the NRU HSE spoke at two roundtable discussions during the forum, devoted to elaboration of the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation up to 2030 and implementation of the Law “On Strategic Planning in the Russian Federation”.

Workshop held in Lipetsk, devoted to strategic planning

On 7 October, staff from the Institute of Public Administration and Municipal Management (A. Klimenko, N. Klishch and I. Stepanov) and from the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (M. Goland) took part in the workshop “Strategic Directions in Socio-economic Development of Lipetsk Region. New Approaches and Mechanisms to Determine Points of Economic Growth”.

Summer School of the Public and Municipal Management Department and the Fulbright Programme (7 – 12 June 2015)

From 7 to 12 June 2015, as part of collaboration between NRU HSE and the Institute of International Education (the Fulbright Programme), an International Summer School was held on “Sustainable Development of Municipal Agglomerations”. The Summer School was organised by the Public and Municipal Management Department of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the Fulbright Programme in Russia. This Summer School was a continuation of a series of summer schools, arranged jointly with the Fulbright Programme (2012, 2013), devoted to various aspects of the theory and practice of sustainable development.

Development of Strategic Management

On 8 April 2015, as part of the XVI April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, a round table was held, entitled Development of Strategic Management, which was chaired by Professor Andrei Klimenko, Director of the Institute for Public and Municipal Management.
